The Faren M. Douglas Legacy Scholarship is the vision of Foundation President, Kiara Potts, created to honor the memory and legacy of Ms. Faren Douglas. Her one-of-a-kind spirit, genuine heart, and selfless service to people is what led to the creation of The Faren M. Douglas Legacy Scholarship.
Scholarship Criteria: There will be one $2000 scholarship awarded to an undergraduate minority female, completing their junior or senior year attending a 4-year college or university.
Each student must have a 3.0 GPA or above and submit ALL required documents to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered, as all supporting documents are a part of the application.
Each application must be typed and completed by the student with an email address NOT associated with their college, or university.
A completed application packet includes the following:
• Official Transcript
• Student Verification Letter from College/University
• 500-750 Word Personal Statement Essay
• 2 Professional Letters of Recommendation
• Completed Scholarship Application
Upon award, the recipient and donor will discuss specifically how and where the funds will be applied. This discussion will occur via phone or in person, depending on the location of the recipient.
Please note, Student Identification Number must be provided no later than July 31, 2025, to ensure timely scholarship award.
Scholarship award will not be applicable for previous/ongoing balances.
